This week, Kids Group was on a different day. Because of this, we had a smaller attendance. After feeding the children, they decorated dangling star streamers and did other crafts. One kid created a makeshift telephone using string and solo cups.

It was a great time. Sometimes it is nice to have the kids in such small groups. I also like the looser activity plans because the kids can exercise their creativity and autonomy. None of us volunteers would have thought to do that with cups. Nor would we have anticipated that it would entertain them for so long either.

One activity plan that I had that we will not be able to use before the semester ends and I can no longer help out is make your own puzzles. Prior to the activity, volunteers would print off pictures for the kids to choose from, preferably coloring pages. During Kids' Group, they would color in the pictures and cut it out to form puzzle pieces that they could then solve.
